Module 1 - User Registration

Module Objectives

At the completion of this module, you will:

• Know how to register as an Express user.

User registration

Express allows UCLA employees to self register as an Express User.  To register as an Express user:

1. Connect to the Express website http://www.express.ucla.edu.

2. The home page will display which includes a login box.  Under Registration, click on the link that says "register as an Express user." 

   

3. Enter your nine digit University ID and the last 4 digits of your Social Security number on the New User Registration page.  Click on Submit.

   

4. Express will validate the information you entered and assign you an Express login ID or if you are already registered as a new user, the system will display a security warning (shown below).  Note:  The same security warning will display if you had clicked on "forgotten login ID or password" and entered the information on the Forgotten Login ID/Password Screen.

   

   Once the system assigns you a login ID, you can then select your own password by entering the password once in the "Select a Password" field and again in the "Confirm Password" field.  You may be asked for an email address if you do not have one in the Employee Database.  Click on submit.

   

5. Express will confirm your login ID.  Click OK to acknowledge the message and access the Express Main Menu.

   

6. The Express Main Menu will display.

   Note:  The main menu that you see will vary depending upon your access level.  For example, a department administrator will have access to additional functions and these function will display on the department administrator's main menu.  The main menu shown below is for a regular user of Express.

    

You have reached the end of Module 1.   Click the left arrow to return to the previous module. Click on the right arrow to continue on with the next module. Make a selection from the Table of Contents on the left. Go to the Express website http://www.express.ucla.edu. If you wish to exit, close your browser.
